How do I make the redness in my nose go away?

For a few days now I've had a redness inside of my nose,like in the middle part that splits the nose holes.Its red,irritated,burns and itches sometimes,and a bit swollen.Could this be some sort of infection? The other side seems fine.Its almost swollen to point of where I can barely stick a q-tip in to clean-since I can't blow it.I've been swabbing the area with vaseline to keep it from being so dry.Any idea of what this could be,or how to make it better?

I should also add-no smart remarks..

Try a triple antibiotic (drug store) to treat it as if it were empitigo, and make an appt to see the doc.

And stop picking your nose.....
