I've heard that world peace starts at home. But what about all the homes with families that do nother but fight with each other? Will we ever see world peace?

I believe it does. The attitude needed to make a change in the world that we live in is a person who is:

intelligent
sociable
loving
caring
driven
responsible
doesn't let others down
successful - that depends on how you define success. I define success as being an attainable goal you strive for in your lifetime and try to go above and beyond your wildest expectations.

I believe there could be world peace today. If you do an intentional act of kindness each day, that'll get us one step closer to world peace because happiness is contagious and everyone wants a role in shaping our world.

The phrase comes from the idea that if we start small, with ourselves and those around us, it will spread out from there - and if everyone did this, it would soon cover great areas, like huge ripples in water.

Also, as many people age, it becomes harder to influence them to change. Thus, we must work on the children, showing them the way, and they in turn will grow and affect others in their lifetime. This is true with humans, no matter what doctrine you are supposing..

World Peace? Unfortunately, there will be many efforts, but due to human nature, it will never be. A city is an example of a very small 'world'. There is an overall feeling of 'safety' and it can be generally productive positively, but there will always be pockets of evil and negativity. Many civilizations in recorded past have tried, by force or otherwise, to attain a true, blanketing 'peace' over an area, repeatedly, without success.

All we can really do is learn what is right and wrong and try to spread that to others - starting within ourselves and our homes.

Complete world peace...maybe for a week or so.
The theory at it starting at home sounds pretty good to me. When the people who you are around most in your life are at peace and happy, you can be as well and carry that on to others.

I think it should be "world peace SHOULD start at home". It doesn't necessarily mean all homes are promoting world peace--just that this is an ideal. I guess the actual thing is "charity starts at home"--it should, but it doesn't always.

Will we ever see World Peace? I pray yes.

Home is where you learn how to deal with the world. It's like a training camp. If you learn to resolve your problems with love and peace at home, then you are more likely to deal with other people in that manner. If your home is in a constant state of bickering and fighting, then those are the coping skills you are going to gain.

Yeah, it does. If you fight like cats and dogs at home, what makes you think about world peace?

You can only create peace within yourself. You then become a little light in the world. When enough of us are "lit up," the world will become bathed in peace.

Peace.
