no such animal. The Necronomicon is a fictional book created by H P Lovecraft. There is a paperback circulating since the 70's that is just a repackaging of Sumerian mythology made to look like it fits in with Lovecraft but really doesn't. All hail Dagon!

The "real" Necronomicon was an invention of H.P. Lovecraft in his Cthulhu Mythos stories from the pulp fiction days of the '30s. Supposedly written in Arabic by Abdul Alhazred (who went mad either after or during the writing, and died in a supernaturally horrible fashion), it went through a couple of translations, both extremely rare, the Greek one being the most available. A copy resides in the restricted book section of Miskatonic University Library in Arkham, Massachusetts.
Of course this is a fictional history of a fictional book, but Lovecraft made it convincing enough that people really have gone to big libraries trying to find it.
Guess I haven't been keeping up on what's happening in the world..sounds like someone somewhere has decided to turn a fast buck by inventing an actual text for this moldy tome. Must be some really interesting stuff, though. In the stories, people who actually read "the Mad Arab's Book" almost always went insane and/or came to a grisly end in the tentacles of cosmic horrors.

First, I checked on Amazon and they have used copies that begin around $0.65. Even at $7.99, that doesn't seem like too much for a book.
Second, I wonder about the authenticity of the subject matter. See the site below for further information.
Lastly, fooling around with the occult is a very dangerous thing; no doubt you believe you are immune from its effects but so many others have also. There is but one true power and it is not harnessed like an ox. Please do not allow the actions of others to chase you away from the Holy Spirit's promise.

The Necronomicon was written by H.P. Lovecraft who, along with Edgar Allen Poe, invented the horror genre. It's not the ancient tome that many people think it is.

it is just a farce anyway... something thought up by h.p. lovecraft and written by other people to try to capitalize on the idea.
