The US policy toward North Korea needs to be radically changed; for most of the Bush Administration, all he has done is call North Korea part of the "Axis of Evil", but has done little , if anything to engage them with diplomatically. Instead, our policy seems to be : let South Korea, Japan, and China solve the problem. Since the North Koreans are trying Inter-continental ballistic missiles that can now reach the western United States, we need to engage in diplomacy with them.

I think the United States tends to involve itself far too much in the affairs of other countries. Other nations have the right to their own form of government, and to develop technology to improve the well-being of their citizens and protect their preferred way of life. Rather than blanketly advocating democracy as a one-government-fits-all solution, I would advicate letting our way of life speak for itself. If they are attracted to our sneakers and houses and freedoms, they will eventually move towards capitalism and productive interaction rather than protective beligerency. China is a good example of this type of thing. To sum up, unless Korea actually attacks us or oneof our allies, I'd leave them alone. But if we're attacked? Nuke 'em.

It's really starting to get scary because I read yesterday that Japan is thinking of making a preemptive strike against them. If that happens every one who has nukes will use them and then it will be the end of the world as we know it - forever.
