We will always stick with a system that maintains individual freedom. Anything else, including communism and socialism, would be against the principles that this nation was founded upon.
Since capitalism is the system that promotes the most individual freedom, it will remain. You must remember, this isn't Europe. As far as economic issues are concerned, the United States is much closer to the right as a country.

America is socialist ... boarder line communist.
Capitalism allows for Supply & Demand (S&D) to find a natural "Equalibrium". When Government programes get into the economy, this denies a true "Equalibirim" on S&D.
President Franklin D. Rosevelt took the first major step to get ride of Capitalism in 1935 when he enacted the Social Security programs. Since then, the USA keeps adding more and more and more socialist programs like 911 emergency services, medicare, public schools, roads, and saving the " Iowa Pleistocene Snail " ... all costs to be shared by the citizens of the USA.
See, we wouldn't be bickering about immigration if these services didn't exist ... then "S&D" would kick in and when so many immigrants ruined the economy, well then the immigrants would no longer want to come here because it would suck ...
We're boarder line communist because of the recent things like "Phone monitoring" and some of the stuff in "Homeland Security".
If you want true capitalism, go to Russia!!!

America, yes America and Europe and most of the country's in the system but on the cost of rest of the world.2 billion of satisfied consumers on the cost of 4 billion of less lucky , less satisfies, thirsty hungry .... people.
What after it, perhaps some equalizing of poor and rich, perhaps society with futuristics goals of good life for everyone.
World can prosper only if it expands , and we must find new frontiers , moon mars ...
And that costs enormously, more then capitalistic society can afford. So you must have some other kind of society, Communist did not work, perhaps some mishmash of feudal and capitalistic, or perhaps something that I can not envision.
Perhaps even a society where leaders are good at what they doing, where you can be aristocracy of knowledge and success.
who knows

Debt has made our form of capitalism "successful". It's a big pyramid scheme. How can anyone say capitalism that forgot how to create capital is successful?
There is a very good book on this subject called "After Capitalism: From Managerialism to Workplace Democracy" by Seymour Melman.
P.S. 911 is a socialist service? Whoa. Let's ponder the free-market alternative.
FD: This is the Fire Department...what is your emergency?
Caller: My house is burning down and part of my family is still trapped inside!
FD: You'll need to call another privately-owned station. Ours is retrieving Mr. Gates' cat from a tree.
Caller: But MY HOUSE IS BURNING DOWN!
FD: We're sorry sir, Mr. Gates outbid you for our services. Have a good day.
Jesus was crucified for being a communist (the good kind).
Quoting The Holy Bible, Acts Chapter4:32-35 {All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of his possessions was his own, but they shared everything they had....There were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned lands or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales and put it at the apostles' feet, and it was distributed to anyone as he had need.}
Maybe after capitalism it's going to be "back to the future"?

Capitalism.Socialism is not the next best, it is the best. However, socialism is only effective in countries with a low population. Contries like China and Russia are not doing/did not do very well because of the large population. Finland is a socialist country and has been doing great. Why, because they have a small population.

after unlimited fortunes capitalism, a return to the original american dream: avoidance of tyranny, corruption, unfreedom and undemocracy by limiting fortunes - the most a person can truly earn is US$2 million - over that it is overpay and creates underpay - wealth and poverty and violence
people dont realise that there are wideopen ways in the present capitalism by which money shifts from earners to nonearners - it should be obvious - no one earns billions
justice is pay for work - justice is taking out of the pool of wealth no more than you put in - bill gates takes out up to $10 million an hour - which means he has a license to take out $10 million of goods and services after he puts in one hour of his work
and yet everyone can see that if you took a 100 people with same equipment, tools and knowledge to make various goods and services, bill gates would not make any more or much more than anyone else- therefore he is not producing any more than anyone else
the reasons he is paid more have nothing to do with his productivity or genius or hardness of work or efficiency or any such thing - he rakes huge dough because of new technology with high demand and low initial supply, making high prices relative to costs - costs of making computers are as little as 10th of price
the average person works 50 hours a week, bill gates couldnt possibly work more than 100 hours a week, and if he was working 100 hours a week he certainly wouldnt be working harder than the average person per hour, so clearly no one can work more than twice as hard as the average person - so he is being super overpaid, which means others have to be underpaid, which is slavery, which makes anger and violence
first thing the founding fathers did after decl of independ was pass laws to limit fortunes, in order to prevent tyranny and underpay and social disturbance - democracy is impossible without prevention of concentration of wealth - they knew that
clearly we have unjust capitalism - super overpay and underpay - pay from $1 to $1 billion for a fortnight's work - we are paying rich people for working and then paying them huge amounts for nothing
we need just capitalism

Free people making free exchanges just plain works the best, given man's selfish interests. Capitalism harnesses that selfishness for the benefit of most. Religion motivates people to assist those whom it does not benefit. Christian Capitalism would be my ideal refinement of capitalism.

I would add that FDR isn't the only one to blame for this downward spiral - Herbert Hoover did a lot to promote anticapitalism before him.

anarchism or feudalism. Everybody's wealthy enough to do as they please, or power belongs to a handful of people who are powerful enough to control the majority. It all depends on how the end result of the capitalism era.
