Heat! Water! Pain Meds! Heat will relax her muscles. During relaxation time, get her a heating pad and turn it on low. Place it on her belly and the pain will lessen. Drink as much water as you can - flush out toxins from your body and lubricate your muscles and brian. Get some Aleve - it lasts the longest and somehow knows right where to stop the pain. another option is Midol, which will relieve bloating, but it's not really strong in the pain dept. Make sure that she doesn't miss a dose of pain meds, or the transition will be a pain in the butt.
If she is sick to her tummy, keep her away from all dairy products, as they can irritate an already angry stomach. Good luck, and i hope you have fun!

Well, I have often times considered just jumping off a bridge or something, especially when the cramps are really bad>>>>Ok Ok, that's a little rash, and obviously I don't ever do it, what I do is take 2 motrin and a hot bath for a long time....also a heating pad works, and walking will also help. I'm affraid there is no straight away cure, aside from perscription meds, but they don't last longer than the period itself which is like 7-10 days max....should be feelin fine for the trip!

Well she can take midol or ibuprofen she should drink a lot of water and no sodas or anything junkie like that. when she's just lying around she should where a hot pack where ever the pain is on her back or on her stomach, usually for me it's on the back. then she should take a shower everyday because that just always feels good especially during this time.and before she leaves she should do some exercise because that can always make you feel better to and it can also take away the pain. Well hope this helps and good luck and have lots of fun in Florida. : )

Try one or two of the following:
1)Heating pad on the tummy- relieves lower cramps
2)Midol- for bloating
3)Advil- for headache and cramps
4)Lower back massage
5)Yell at your boyfriend- this seriously works, I do it at least once during my period and feel amazing after, all my pain/cramps go away from the exercise and concentration on him instead of my misery

I've found that a heating pad on my abdomen, plus some extra strength pamprin or midol helps tremedously. Also, try excersizing, and stretching.
Have fun in Florida!

What everyone else said plus, tell her to make sure she isn't constipated (not joking). Sometimes, that can be the cause of period cramps, too. So tell her to eat raisins or a lot of fruits and veggies, and drink water.

Pamprin - two tablets does it for me plus it lasts for like eight hours and its specially designed for most symptoms related to a woman's period.

I agree with amosunknown, also don't eat a lot of salt before you are supposed to start. I also use a heating pad/hot water bottle and prop my feet up. They should be gone in a couple of days, I would think... Welcome to FL and have fun down here!!!

Drink tons of water that normally helps.
one old wive remedy is taking a teaspoon of curd along with fenugreek seeds. This also helps immensely.
