Dear Miss Meg,

I think that, deep down, you're the only person who can truly answer this question. I think it has to do not with the reason you got plastic surgery, but the reason for the reason. In other words, did you need a ego boost (which is what I assume you mean by "personality") because you feel that you somehow don't measure up, or are passed over by men because of some physical "lack," or just wanted a change of pace?

In the end, you'll have to do some soul-seeking about your feelings. If you got surgery in order to try and feel better about yourself, it may end up being a band-aid and a detriment to a truly good self-image. Your own language, "fixed" may even tell you right off that you thought something was "broken." Is there something deeper than physical that you should work on?

As for your friend, her language sounds overly harsh, and it could be that either jealousy, concern, or shock is at the root of it, biut I would hesitate to instantly attribute it to any one of those (especially jealousy, if she's a good friend) until you talk to her more...which you know in your heart that you want to and should.

If you are bothered by a big nose or small boobs, go for it, as long as you don't end up with a Michael Jackson nose. If you are doing it because you are 50 trying to look 30, get over it. From what I have seen, those 50's trying to look 30 end up looking like 70's trying to look 50. Age naturally for crap's sake!

maybe your friend is jealous... i say as long as people do their research and can afford (or has someone else paying for it) then why not? If it is going to make you feel good and you are doing it for yourself and noone else then what is the problem? maybe your friend has her reason for being against it but it was wrong to tell you that you are low because of it. i say more power to you fro not denying it!!!! if you look good and feel good then i am happy for you! have fun!

Every girl I know who got a boob job loves it and feels better!

That don't make it right, but if it works, who cares!

My personal feelings are, if some guy says their too small tell him, Well, you don't have to worry cause you'll never see them again!

That usually makes him worry, because guys get a lot less than they claim to get!

It sounds like your friend is just insecure. Before you had surgery, she felt better about herself because you felt worse about yourself. Now that you feel good and look good, she can't feel superior to you.

Whatever.... if you can afford it do it!! The best thing is that you feel better about yourself. That's amazing. Good for you! Don't let her get to you.

If it makes you happy, that is what counts. Your friend is just probably jealous.
