1/3 horsepower motor 4 wires, black, green, white and red. Pump, vent low, vent high, cool low, cool high. I know it was backward it keeps going off and when i turn on the low cool its actually high. I think its getting hot because its backward.

OK. You have 4 wires going to the motor. White will be neutral. Green will be ground. So one of the other two wires is low and the other high. Simple enough. Only wire one wire to the switch and see what speed it is. Then wire that to the side of the switch for that speed. Then wire in the other.

Use caution and don't shock yourself.

As for the rest of the wires. The pump should be wired so that it is on at all times when the unit is on. The vent low/cool low should be tied into the low speed fan setting. The vent high/cool high should be tied into the high speed fan setting. Its easy. Just take your time.
