before the tornado even got a chance to suck you up, you would be torn to shreds by the debris and shrapnel that is being flung around at extremely high speeds.

you would be implaled by wood splinters, even entire 2x4's, and depending on the size of the tornado, the swings could be ripped from the ground entirely.

A tornado is a violently rotating column of air which is in contact with both a cumulonimbus (or, in rare cases, cumulus) cloud base and the surface of the earth. Tornadoes can come in many shapes, but are typically in the form of a visible condensation funnel, with the narrow end touching the earth. Often, a cloud of debris encircles the lower portion of the funnel.

Tornadoes can be the most destructive storms on earth. Most have winds of 112 mph (180 km/h) or less, are approximately 250 feet (75 meters) across, and travel a mile (1.6 km) or more before dissipating. However, some tornadoes can have winds of more than 300 mph (500 km/h), be more than 2 miles (3 km) across, and stay on the ground for dozens of miles (more than 100 kilometers).

this tells u yr swing will most likely go with u for a big spin...

No. Playgrounds are sacrosanct and are therefor immune to tornados.

Even if the tornado was not strong enough to uproot the playground equipment, if it were strong enough to lift a person, the winds do not blow evenly in one direction. The swing, with the person on it would get violently tossed around. The person would not be able to hold on, get tossed out of the seat and lifted. The person's trajectory could not be predicted. Instead of sucked in, he may simply be tossed out.

it's not a matter of the swings holding, if you can't keep your hands on the swings in 100+ mph winds and a sucking force of hundreds of thousands of pounds then you are screwed basically. I don't think that a swing would hold, by the way.

the swings will also be sucked. The whole thing get pulled up but the ground is holding the swing down. If you never hold tightly, you will get sucked.

You would be knocked off the swing set by all the debris flying around before the tornado go to you.

Most likely with the swing set and all.

i think flying debris would hit you and knock you off the swing before the tornado was close enough to suck you in.

depends on how strong it is if its not that bad maybe you could hang on but if it is a bigger one it would take the whole swing set...if your in a tornado i wouldn't suggest running for a swing set...lol...trust me i have been thru my fair share of tornado's..they suck!!
