(3.8 grams Al)*(1 mol Al/26.98 grams Al)*(6.02 x 10^23 atoms of Al/mol of Al) = 8.5 x 10^22 atoms of Aluminum

Calculate as follows:
1) How many mols is 3.8g
The molar mass of aluminum is 26.98 g/mol
n=3.8g/(26.98g/mol)
= 0.140845 mols
2) The number of atoms(or molecules) in a mol is avogradgos constant = 6.022*10^23
3) Multiply the number of moles by avogradgos number to get:
= 0.140845*6.022*10^23
= 7.48*10^22 atoms of aluminum

Hope that helps....

3.8g x (1 / 26.98) = .1408 mol Al

.1408 mol x [(6.02 x 10^23) / 1] = 8.48 x 10^22 atoms Al

Anytime you need to answer a question like this, you need to use the atomic mass number of the element. That also gives you the mass of one mole (6.022 x 10^23 particles) of that element in grams. (This is also called molar mass).

Divide the number of grams by the atomic mass number. That will give you the number of moles. In this case, the number will be less than one.

Multiply your answer by the number of particles in one mole.

Once you have done this problem, you should be able to answer questions just like it about other elements. The process is exactly the same.

Are you just looking for somebody to do your homework? Convert gram to mols using molar mass.
Convert moles to particles using avagadro's number.

Remember the unit you start with needs to be on the bottom of the conversion factor in order to cancel out.

n=m/A
m=3.8
A=26.98
n=0.140845
number of atoms=0.140845*6.023*10^23=0.8483094*10^23
