everyone has answered your questions on finding the worth of metals pretty accurately they will all be good sources to find your answer but the palladium i can help with it is fairly new to the jewelery market although it has been around as long as the other more popular metals the basics are it is similarly priced to 18k wg it is a purely white metal because it comes from the platinum group it is lighter than platinum but very slightly heaver than the golds it is easy to work with and has a very nice color and luster about it hope that helps

If its your own stuff you can get it appraised. If you want to know for personal knowledge, you can go to a jewelery store and dick around in there if they are not busy with buying customers(sometimes, not always a reliable source).
There are also jewellery conventions. Dubai has an amazing one at their convention center coming up Dec. 2006 if you happen to be in the neighborhood, haha. Or there are other ones that tour the US. You can definitely learn alot from the shows because every vendor/representative there will WANT to talk to/educate you.
