im sorry im only 23 but apparently im really out of touch-what is an emo kid????
when i was in high school we had preps,jocks,punks & stoners,band geeks,artsy people and greasers
now they have emo kids-is that the only new group?????????

I hate it when people are emo just to be emo. Or punk just cuz. They see some black one day at Macy's and are like, "let's go emo!" Emo kids are so emo cuz 1. They think they are cool now. 2. They think this is them with expression. 3. It's so cool (don't you know?) 4. I mean, they are so independent now. I mean, who else gets bangs across their face and writes gory poems, they are unique. Ugh. They make me sick. Emos- be yourself! Stop declaring yourself things you aren't! Originality is the key to uniqueness! You wanna be cool and recognized? Be creative and yourself! It'll make a statement on its own...

From my knowledge, emo kids are kids who listen to emo music, a music genre that's short for "emotional hardcore" , such bands that fall under this category are: Jimmy Eat World, Dash Board Confessionals and many more. I've noticed that these "kids" also follow a certain dress code. I call it vintage punk grunge sorta look.

Emo = sissy little cry baby "non-conformists" who all follow the same trend each claiming to be "unique". Most cut not out of depression but to make it look like they have it rough, and for attention.

An "emo" is an emotional person. I have friends who are emo... and you've just got to understand them. They can be funny and smart too.

there's skaters too, and an emo kid is just a kid who wears girl jeans and listens to crappy music.
cliques are stupid. I fell into the "clique" of people that were just there, i liked it.

wow ... i hope this emo thing goes out before my kids hit high school!!!!that is one group i dont want her messing with!!!!i mean suicide and depression are not a joke or something to be taken lightly!!!

yep, i have friends which are emos. They listen to really depressing music, and slit their wrists, drenellin, stuff. they are obsessed with knifes, don't like colours other than black and white, and trust me, they can be so rude and scary.
