We are trying to become like God. We do so by having faith in Christ and following his commandments. It's a gradual process that will continue after this mortal life and into the next. Our mortal lives give us invaluable experiences making faith-based decisions that can bring us closer to and more like our Heavenly Father. As we do so, we are fulfilling our destiny and realizing our potential as sons and daughters of God.

Science's answer is "There isn't any." If you go with scientific dogma, life is an electrochemical accident, so it has no inherent meaning. In this view, there is no "reason" for us to exist, since that would mean it was somehow intended for us to exist, to accomplish some purpose. Science can't allow itself to consider that any of this was/is consciously intended without painting itself into the corner of having to answer "Intended by who?"
Religion's answer is "To know and serve God." If you go with religion, you have to buy into a dogmatic system of unprovable beliefs and not allow your mind to stray outside of the box.
Both sides go around angrily proclaiming the ignorance of the other. Meanwhile, you stand there alone with your question.
So what I can tell you is no one is going to be able to give you that answer but you. And it usually doesn't come in a big bright flash, but in little glimpses of light here and there.

Maybe the meaning is to find out what the meaning is. I am not saying this in a facetious way. In finding the meaning, we may be able to 'wake up' into a higher level of understanding. It is scary that very few really have much of a clue what's going on, and taking little responsibility for their lives.

The meaning of life depends upon your personal religious/spiritual beliefs. Some believe that our purpose in life is to party for all you're worth while you're alive; others believe that we're here to serve God. Every different religion has a different take on it. Really, you ought to decide for yourself.

Some say 42.
Some say Love.
Some say God.
I think it is to live your life without worrying what the meaning of it is. There are too many people that worry about what life is to actually enjoy it.
