Perhaps the question should have been rephrased to ask, " Is there something beyond our ( human beings ) observable life on Earth? "
I say YES!! What we call "death" is nothing more than a transformation from one form of existence, into another kind of existence. You won't be the you that you were here on Earth, but will continue on as something else.......for all of eternity. Just as you were before your current phase here on Earth. :)

Well, at the very least, people definitely live on in spirit. When we are remembered, it keeps our spirit alive.
There is no way of knowing for sure if there is life after death. I personally believe we can go on, but in a different capacity; the body is just a "shell", but the spirit can't die...

No. The definition of death is the point where life ceases, so if there is then god clearly hasn't read the dictionary. On a more serious note, after you die, I believe you are buried in the ground, your flesh eaten by maggots, and then ultimately forgotten by all as those you loved in life die to. : ) I know I have a happy outlook towards life...

Life is not just one person. It is a gene thing. All living beings try to secure their genes by selecting good partner and breed.
If you have a son or daughter you are living even after death. Your wish, the guidance that you gave to your kids will all live through them.

There is no credible evidence that anything of a person's consciousness exists after the moment of death.

Sometimes I want to believe that there is.....then other times, I hope that there is not.
I certainly hope that we dont come back into another body...that is my only fear, this life has been enough for me.
I hear people say they wished they could back and re-do things in their past....for me, I never want to relive it. Once was enough.
I dont think anybody "really" knows that answer because, they would have to die and return to tell about it. (then if they came back it would scare the crap at of me and I wouldnt want to be around them....because their dead...)

Nope. Just like a light bulb, you're on...then you're off. It is actually quite conceited of humans to think they are so special, that there is something beyond death.

yes, cent percent thr is!
if we say we go to heaven or helll after life...wut about the animals...they don't kno nything about it...and yet they are still living things...and so r we...if us human beings are the only ones who has the right to heaven and hell then, god is unfair....which he is not!..
just like evolution, a small living creature evolves into a larger and more sophisticated one....we as well...change our bodies depending upon our deeds...into ny form..human beings or animals..or evn plants...
read Bhagvad Gita...
Hinduism and Science almost go parallel in their beliefs...but people unfortunately have a different image for it
