My wife and i and our 8 month old son are moving from Collinsville OK to Seattle WA in 2 weeks. We have been planning this move for months but we recently have started geting rustrated with the amount of help we are not getting from UHaul. It also seems that everyone else, is twice as expensive. We want to get there with our stuff (about 1.5 bedrooms worth) and our midsized car.

These are the options we have considered: U Pack, PODS, trading our 2 cars for an SUV (Ford Explorer?) and hauling a trailer with our stuff in it. But we don't want a crappy SUV. Something that will be reliable. It will be our only transportation besides the bus and our feet in Seattle.

Hello from outside of Seattle. When I moved here from Colorado, my Uhaul broke down on the side of a remote highway in Idaho, and I had to unload all of my belongings and wait for 2 hours in fields of nothing waiting for them to bring me a new one. The point is, they brought me a new one, with no extra charge, and I still got here. For less money. Don't get the SUV, gas is sooo expensive here and it'll drain your account. The bus system in Seattle is excellent, so if you don't plan on leaving the city often, you would be fine without a car.

Depending on the type of cars you own, they could be an option.
You see with the purchase of two smaller trailers for the cars you could haul that much stuff. Alot of it can be placed inside the cars and this would be a better option than the uhaul. They have a reputation of leaving you stranded if the vehicle breaks down.
The trailers will be yours to keep or sell once the move is over and they sell pretty fast in a regular newspaper. This is also a much cheaper option.

Good luck whatever you decide.

Wait till you get to Seattle. It is much more expensive in every way. Maybe you want to change your minds. U-haul has always been reliable for me.
