What? No Lee Marvin? He was a great villain in Clint Eastwood movies and a better actor IMO. I think I'll vote for him.
Costner can't act and why would you consider Branson (Bronson) a good actor.

1) John Wayne is the arch type. From his earliest roles to the very end of his career he was THE cowboy. All the others are good, I guess, but The Duke wins, hands down.
