He's rented me the most beautiful flat (brand new, former show home), refused to accept a deposit, paid my moving expenses and offered to have re-decorated any bits I don't like (there aren't any). And, before anyone says it - no, there's no hidden agenda. He simply says that he's had some luck in his life, and likes being able help others when he can.

You're a lucky lady.
Shame there aren't more people like your landlord around. Problem is in todays world we all think there must me a hidden agenda when someone does something nice like that. Remember, you obviously come across as the person he'd most like to have living in his flat, who he can trust so you must deserve it.
I wonder if there are any landlord of the year type awards.

Sure. If someone is really nice too you, then hey. Realize the fact that someone was nice to them. And someone was nice to them. The world goes round and round, if you get my meaning. Maybe that old saying "Treat others the way you want to be treated" does actually mean something. So hey, if I were you, I'd bake him cookies. If he's not a cookie type of guy, send him flowers. And hey, if he's a manly man, send him a gift certificate to Sportsmart or something. And make sure you do a good deed too.

Sounds like it!

And there's no doubt that you'll pass the good along to the next person you can.

What an amazingly effective way to change the world!

He sounds very good, but be careful. Good things don't last forever. Just be aware.

Good luck!

What a lovely person. Show you are grateful but don't feel you owe him (it was his choice).
