My Dad taught me to drive when I was 14. I've been driving ever since. Drove to school almost every day, 2 years before I was old enough for a license.

Times were different back then! LOL

Children - do NOT try to get away with this stuff now!

I was 17 when I started driving. My first REAL trip on my own was when I was 24; I moved from Florida to Pennsylvania (with help from Amtrak's Autotrain) but I still put over 400 miles on my '84 Sunbird.

I was 14 when my mom let me practice at the mall parking lot...after hours of course! I was so nervous because I had never been behind the wheel of a car....that had the key IN it, lol. She let me practice parking between 2 lines. Got that down. She let me practice of course, forward & reverse. Somehow though I think my foot got a little heavy on one of my turns & all I remember is this screeching noise & my mom telling me to SLOW DOWN SLOW DOWN....then her hysterical laughter began. My palms were sweating, my body temp had elevated, I was nervous as hell when that car starting spinning, LMAO!!! It was freakin hilarious though! I was so dumb, lol.
