I mean, it was a professional headbutt!
If he ended up flying to the goal, would Zidane be able to add this one to his scoresheet?

Actually what Zidane did to Materazzi was not a headbutt. It’s called the french Heimlich maneuver and it only works on Italians. The funny part about the whole incident was just how far that little shyster Materazzi fell backwards, like he got shot out of a canon.

Materazzi is the man. He admitted it was an insult but he uncovered the unprofessional side of Zidane that has no control just before everyone wrote him up as the best player ever. He is definitely one of the greatest but he has a mouth. he could have answered back and used his head to score a goal. then his fans wouldn't be crying trying to blame the Italians for scoring 5 goals whereas their team failed to do so. blame the french player that missed the net. not the Italians. correct... the french were pressing hard after the first half but don't forget... they failed to score on the Italian defense. you can't blame anyone but your own team. grow up.

If he had ended up flying in the goal, I think it would have been the laugh heard round the world. That would have been the funniest thing I would've ever seen. I personally think that headbutting a guy into the goal is worth at least 10 points...

I guess if Materazzi somehow had the ball while Zidane headbutted him. That would be the goal of the tournament. :-)

Really funny question, it made me laugh; but remember that in football, it's the ball that has to fly to the goal for a player to score:)))))))))))

But hey, maybe Americans would watch it more.
