I am glad that Brasilia lost out when they did. I respect that they have won the most World Cups but I do not want to see them win again for a while... I have never been a big England fan but I was rooting for these guys and was hopeful that they would at least reach the semi-finals. I am disappointed in the way they lost to Portugal. Argentina did not disappoint. They are both talented as well as sore losers... I am of Italiano heritage and I am glad to see Italia win the World Cup. They earned it! I was glad to see France go as far as they did. They are talented! If Zidane keeps his head, they could have won the World Cup. They wasted a great opportunity. Deutschland (Germany) was the most exciting team to watch! They attacked offensively and played good defense and they had some strong goal-tending. Their fans were great as well! With such a young team and a re-energized program they may be strong for many years to come... That being said, I hope to see someone new in the World Cup finals in 2010 and 2014... Maybe Australia can break through or Mexico or an African nation?

Here's what I think:
a) Brazil: here's the proof o what a bad coach can do with a group of world stars. He thought it was 1994 again, but soccer indeed has changed since then.
b) England: depended too much on David Beckham. I believe they will do better on 2010. It has several young and very good players.
c) Argentina: the same thing as Brazil. Who in his right mind would take two of your most valuable players 15 minutes before the end of the match against Germany??!! Peckerman lost that match, not the team
d) Italy: I believe it didn't deserved to be in the final. If you don't believe me, just watch the match against Australia and the penalty that existed only in the mind of the referee. 'nuf said.
e) France: started to play decent in the last games but hate their attitudes and mostly their coach's
f) Germany: will do better in 2010.

a) Brazil - What happened??? After Argentina's elimination I was half-heartedly rooting for them (since they're South Americans), but what a way to go! It was painful to watch.
b) England - I don't know how they got so hyped and performed so badly. The formation wasn't working, and while they had some good players (I particularly liked Lennon), it just wasn't enough.
c) Argentina - AAH! So close, and then the Germans had to go and injure our goalie and ruin our chances in the shootout...what a horrible way to go! Though I'm proud of them; they proved that even with some bad decisions from the coach, they are an awesome team and I can't wait to see them in 2010!
d) Italy - I was rooting for them in the end (blood ties), but except for the two last-minute goals on Germany, they weren't as exciting as my own team, and I was disappointed that even when France was a man down, they had to go to the shootout.
e) France - I didn't expect them to get that far. I honestly thought, back in the beginning, that Brazil or Spain would come out of that group, but France surprised me and I was impressed by Zidane. Then he had to go and do something stupid (it's like a disease this year!) and got sent off.
f) Germany - I'm still annoyed that they beat us in a SHOOTOUT, so I won't go there. I was a fan of theirs waaaay back in the beginning, but...I'm afraid I've lost my liking for them along the way. The blatant fouls the ref didn't call are just one reason for this.

1)Brazil an amazing team but had no heart
2)Argentina I feel could of been World Champs but were cheated in the Germany game with many questionable calls.
3)Italy was lucky to play Germany instead of Argentina but two amazing goals in the last two mins of OT showed why they are the World Champions.
4) France was lucky to reach Final and beat a chooking Spain team and a heartless Brazil team. they beat portugal on a unjust PK. Lucky to be runner up
5) Germany a solid team and will grow stronger in the years to come.

a) Brazil - really fair play but too little attacking strategies, too little use of younger talents, and slack defence. Really disappointing.
b) England - one word: underperformed.
c) Argentina - speed is a huge huge problem. Fact that they can't outrun half the teams they were us against made them prone to attack and loss of possession.
d) Italy - very entertaining but I would've appreciated more action and less deadlocking defence.
e) France - amazing...I am impressed speechless, though Barthez's untidy techniques gave many many heart attacks.
f) Germany - nice energy/ pace/ intensity and attacks. Clean, quick and to-the-point.

Brazil - good, but played to overconfidently. I detected some arrogance in them
England - very good, but played too recklessly, like wild kids
Argentina - excellent, but their shooting skills needed more work
Italy - fair, Australia didn't lose fairly
France - fair, they were just lucky
Germany - excellent, until the last minutes of the match against Italy

France was despicable, they had to resort to cheating to try to win the World Cup. Personally I'm glad they lost, it allows them to keep up there historical trend of always losing.
