Actually, it wasn't stupid, it was the best thing we could have done for this country. Electing the treasonous hollow man Kerry would have been a disaster.
But, perhaps you could explain to me how popularity polls mean anything? Governance and leadership are not popularity contests. Doing the right thing is doing the right thing, however unpopular. Do you know how unpopular Lincoln was during the Civil War? Probably less popular than Bush, and definitely more hated. So, you see, it doesn't mean anything.
It isn't a prom queen election. It is a president doing his utmost for the safety and prosperity of his country.

Janet, do some reading...
2000, he was selected. Gore won the popular vote (51,003,926 ~ 50,460,110), but it's all about the electoral college in this country which Bush's team stole along with Florida (271 ~ 266)
In 2004 Bush won the popular vote by 2.4% and the EC 286 - 252. Hardly a mandate, but fear is a great motivator. Whenever some neoclown brags about Bush getting some 62 million votes, I tell 'em, "yeah....he also got 60 million votes cast AGAINST him", also the most ever. 50.7% wanted him, but 49.3 didnt.

Have you ever heard of the elctoral college. Presidents are not elected by popularity and there is a reason for that. Being a leader means sometimes you have to do things that are not popular and being popular does not qulify you to be a leader.
No americans are not stupid people who dont get the big picture are and thats most liberals

If you only read the Liberal press, then that is a good question.
George Bush was elected to a second term because the majority of the American voting public decided that there was not a challenger worth considering.
The people have chosen their leader whether you agree or not, accept it or run the risk of losing your liberty.

America is basically made up of two kinds of people. The educated and intelligent people in the Northeast and West coasts and the uneducated god-fearing simple folks from the middle of the country and South. The people from the middle of the country and the South are the ones who voted for Bush. There are simply more rednecks than regular people in the US. It is such a shame.

There is ample evidence that both elections were fradulent. Do a little research and you'll realize that. His ratings only went up after 9/11 because people want to believe the best in their leadership. As the years have gone by, the results of his policies have proven that the policies suck, and his ratings have gone down.

it is unwise to assume anyone is 'stupid'.... everyone has their own logic. in this system, they have the same one vote you do. the american people, including myself, voted for bush because we have a general trust in what he wants WHEN ALL IS SAID AND DONE.
i have many many issues with the route he takes, but at least i know that wat the end of the day we want generally the same thing... peace, prosperity, morality (in some form)....
when a deer is trapped between a forest fire and a housing developement, the deer will run back into the flames simply because it chooses the known over the unknown....
doesnt mean its right, just what happens.

More people voted for Gore in 2000, but the people who voted for him in 2004 and now disapprove are about as dumb as they come. Not one of his policies has changed from before the election and all of a sudden they think its a bad idea.
I didn't vote for him and would not under any circumstances.

The first time Fla votes were thrown out and Black voters were turned away from poling places by gun point. The second time the votes were so close that the government put him there. Besides Fla was not much better that time either

Conservatives tend to be stubborn and will vote for any politician running as a Republican. The right-winged bible thumpers will always vote for a Republican too.
So I guess you can say that all the conservatives and religious right are that stupid.
