The truth:
Zidane was running his mouth the whole game. Right before the incident Materazzi was pulling Zidane's jersey. Zidane turned around and said "you suck, you can only pull my jersey. If you want I will give you my jersey after the game:"
Materazzi said "Your mom is beautiful":
In the context they were just talking **** back and forth. But Zidane did what he has always done and showed what a dirty player he is. If his career was not over, due to this (his third such indicent) he should be banned from football for at least a year anyway.
So everybody writing here about terririst etc. comments should give it up. This was released on RAI uno last night in an interview with Materazzi. Zidane still hasnt said a word, because he also knows that it benefits him if people think it is a racial slur.

Apparently, Zidane is claiming Materazzi made a racial slur toward him, calling him a "dirty terrorist," or something similar, which Materazzi denies he said.

Who cares. Zidane lost his cool, got thrown out of the game. Doesn't matter how bad the comment was, no excuse for him to headbutt the guy and put his team down a player.

Whatever insult he dished out had to be bad enough for 'the man' to lose his cool. Zidane is forgiven for the head butt... in my opinion. If he said something bad about Z's mother then Z should have kicked him in the face... world cup or not.
