Will Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Man's Chest be the second or third or the Pirates of the Caribbean movies?

Pirates of the Caribbean started with the Curse of the Black Pearl in 2002. This summer boasts the second installment, Dead Man's Chest. They're promising the third installment Pirates of the Caribbean, At World's End next summer. There aren't any trailers out yet as the movie is still in production. If you haven't seen Dead Man's Chest yet I really would!

The third is already in the can and is being edited for a release Memorial Day, 2007.
This is Pirates 2, although with the big bugaboo that studios have in numbering films, they prefer to keep an open title and NOT number it.
(If you noticed, "Ice Age 2: The Meltdown" was slowly converted to "Ice Age: The Meltdown")

It's the second movie and it ended on a cliffhanger to bring in the upcoming third movie, called At World's End, due May 25th 2007.
