CRB = Criminal Records Bureau.

Anyone who work's with children or vulnerable adults must have a current CRB Disclosure, at the Enhanced level, some other work requires people to have a Disclosure at the standard level.

The CRB system now checks many more sources for information than it originally did, and is still quicker than the it was in 2003.

My first CRB Disclosure in 2003 took 16 weeks, my second CRB Disclosure in 2005, took 5 weeks, I know of an organisation recently that got a pile of disclosures back in 3 weeks.

This depends on the organisation. The CRB will only process applications in bulk and organisations need to have enough to apply. Try asking the Organisation if you can pay for it yourself and this will speed it up if it is not already been submitted.
