Baseball games cannot, by definition, be "too long." Baseball is one of the few games not timed but regulated by the play. To change that would be to lose the essence of the game.
Baseball's genius lies in part in the little things that give the spectator a chance to breathe, to think about the game, and to anticipate what's coming next.
Every play is a showdown between the pitcher and the batter, like the final gunfight in a movie. The more they look in the eyes, the more the gunfight is dramatic. The more it is breath-holding.
Baseball, is all about the anticipation of what will happen next.

I think baseball is fine, it's a great sport. It allows for conversation and all the numbers involved allow for players from different generations to be compared.
Baseball is great, it's my favorite way to spend a saturday afternoon.
I prefer pitching duels as well but if I'm at a game thats turned into a slugfest then I'm at the edge of my seat waiting to see who will prevail.
A one sided blowout (esp. when your team is on the short end of the stick) can be tough to watch but you have to take the crunchy with the smooth.
I think it's sad that society today doesn't have enough time to let a baseball game unfold.

no. baseball has always been an open sport. i admit 1-0 games are fun and intense but one of the best things about baseball is watching the game live. 50% because no lead is ever safe in baseball and 50% because the fans make the game more interesting. its fun watchin some drunk scream at the left fielder or the entire stadium booing and berry bonds yelling balko, but then booing if their own picture walks him.
i love baseball
and baseball is one of the cheapest sports to watch live. it cost only 6 bucks for the cheapest seats (top deck) 8 bucks for pavilion (outfield good seats) to watch the la dodgers. to watch the lakers the cheapest seats are still 3xs as much and you are really going to get a nose bleed.

Baseball has always been way too long and way boring. The Baseball officials and the commish should make a 15 second time limit for a pitcher to throw a baseball to home plate once he gets the baseball.

I personally am the opposite. I've grown to love baseball more and more over the years. And I love the offense as compared to the pitching duels.

never, no. Granted, baseball is one of the longest sports played today, but it is one of the few games where the fans really feel active. cheering. catching balls. half the people in the stadium doing the wave. On TV the game isn't quite as interesting, but it is still lots of fun. Baseball isn't long, America's attention span is to short.

baseball has always been long and sometimes boring. It's more fun if you follow strategy and the chess match of a tight game.
