Whenever i try to put a disc into my the drive, it doesn't even try to read the disc, i have two different burners, and both of them dont work, so i'm pretty sure it's not the burners, but i have no idea on how to fix it.

Try some basics. Since you can open the burner, you know you have power. But did you check to see if the IDE cables are connected to the burners and mother board properly? Check the pin settings to see if they are correct. I recommend CS (cable select on both). If not and they are on the same IDE cable, make one Master and the other one Slave. If that is OK, check the CMOS setup and make sure that your drive settings are at least on AUTO detect and not on NONE. If that is correct check your Divide Manger in Windows to see if there is any driver or other error.

First, did this work before? Second, what was the last thing you did before this stopped working? Backstepping a bit always helps to repair anything. If you didn't open the case and everything was working, then the lenses might be dirty on both of them. Is Windows seeing it? Try just double clicking the drive or go to dos and type dir while on the drive. If you did open it up, check to see if all the cables are pushed in, if you have a spare cable, it would help to plug that in to see if it's the cable. Try unplugging one and see if the other starts working. Check the jumpers. Either set the one at the end of the cable as master and the other in the middle of the cable as slave, or just set both of them to CS (Cable Select). Hope this helps!
