Oh Boffo,
Please reconsider this. There is NO one who could BE Schlitzie. I haven't been on Answers as long as you, and maybe you have let other people do this before, and it has been okay, but truly, I believe no one can give out the kind hearted, idiot answers that are somehow wise, as well as Schlitzie her\him\itself.
Everyone will know it is not the real thing, and you know how impersonators are reviled. I will accept no substitute while Boffo is gone. I can wait for the real thing. It is worth the wait.

Don't do it Boffo. Schlitzie is loved and looked forward to by all of us. It's like taking Philly Cream Cheese out of the fridge and slipping in a fat free substitute. I'd rather have nothing.
If I need some half and half, will I be happy with skim? Are you going to take my fillet mignon and leave me a stinkin' Boca Burger? Nobody likes to see a Rice Crispie Treat only to discover it's only dry and dusty rice cake.
Whenever I gave piano recitals or concerts, I had a motto that always served me well; "Always leave them wanting one more song".
Inviting a substitue Schlitzie would be like l playing Chopsticks for an encore after playing Gershwin's Rhapsody In Blue. DON'T DO IT!!!!!
Don't forget...Absense makes the heart grow fonder. Let Schlitzie tag along on your vacation. I'm sure it would make for some interesting stories and a stellar vacation slide show! We'll be that much happier to see him when he gets back.
