The attitude of "Rope 'em and ride 'em" never worked.
Bush is an ineffective leader and whn confronted with a real problem, has done what he has always done: gone running to daddy for help.
But daddy isn't going to help, so he is in a jam as he flops about like a fish on a riverbank.

I don't like repeating catch phrases from either side but "Cowboy Diplomacy" as not ended there is just no benefit in getting into a battle with North Korea. They have nothing that we want. (OIL)(GOLD)(DRUGS) so why would we try to get into it with them. This country is about making money and taking over the world. We can get them out of the way once we have conquered Eurasia

This is fun question. Let me remind you what Madeline Albright said when a journalist asked her why bombing Serbia to protect Kosovo and not getting involved in Rwanda. She said that (and I paraphrase) the fact that United States doesn’t do everything everywhere, does not mean that United States would do something somewhere. As for the Bush administration, this remains the basic policy. We do not have to invade every country, just some.

Yeah its over. Cowboy diplomacy began its exit when Bush admitted he had regrets over his idiotic " bring em on" statement.
He's seeing the limitations of his unsophisticated, shoot from the hip style, and the fool is finally starting to take his job seriously.

Do you even know what cowboy diplomacy means? I bet not, since you are just parroting the headline from Time magazine. Need a cracker?

You have a problem with differing your tactics and strategies depending on the strength of your enemy?
Sounds rather wise to me, actually.
Ever read Tsun Tzu's "The Art of War"?
