There is no question America is seriously polarized.

The extreme left controls about 20% of the votes, the extreme right controls about 20% of the votes, and the 60% of us in the middle have little choice but to choose between them in the voting booth.

The thing about those 20% groups is that they both seem to have the mentality that you MUST agree to every one of their points ... or you're against them!

The only way we're going to break the current hold the GOP extreme right has on national politics is for the Democrat party to nominate moderate candidates. They would sweep into office.

Unfortunately, they are insisting on their candidates hewing fully to the "party line" ... so they are destined to continue their failure.

Both parties right now are placing politics above all else. Until one or the other of them realizes that America and the public good are more important than their political power ... you can expect nothing to change.

The stage is set right now for an overwhelming Democrat win. If they continue to nominate far left candidates, however ... they will blow the opportunity and wonder why.

We were pretty darn polarized during the clinton years. Like someone else said we were also polarized during the civil war, but something always happens that we draw together as a nation. For example, the illegal situation is bringing both sides together on the same side of this hot topic.

Yeah, we are about as polarized as we've been contained in the awesome 1/2 century. yet there have been different circumstances we were VERY polarized. My dad tells me about the vast fights in the course of the total melancholy about Franklin Roosevelt's socialist guidelines. Then, obviously, there have been the days of slavery, the position human beings were even resorting to acts of terrorism (John Brown) with the intention to end that poor company. And, we are able to not ignore the time of the yankee Revolution, the position almost 1/2 the inhabitants were Loyalists and supported England contained in the conflict. So, we've been polarized in the previous, and were given by potential of it ok. there is desire, yet i imagine that's going to take a even as. Frankly, i imagine we ought to get by potential of it extra perfect if lets get previous the personalities (hating Clinton or Bush), and concentration extra on the themes. possibly that must be a lot less complicated if extra human beings fairly understood the themes, yet extremely, we are all getting emotional about them, and ignoring the justifications. by employing the way, i imagine the words 'acceptable' and 'left' are dropping a number of their meaning those days.

Reminds me a lot of the '60's. Unpopular war, unpopular president, inflation moving up.....all we don't have are riots in the streets, but those will come sooner or later. With time, all things will be forgotten and forgiven. This usually happens with a change of administration from one party to another - Johnson a Democrat to Nixon a Republican crook and so on. Once Bush and his minion's are out of office and we get a Democratic administration - headed by Presidnet Hillary Clinton, by the way - the healing can begin.

no.

Civil war, that was polarized,

Vietnam, and the fall of Nixon.

Right now is 70% of the country knows its going in a bad direction....

the 30% are just screaming louder....

remember in 2000 the country was about 50 50 but times have changed......

The county is polorized because each side has its propaganda machines.........

The truth is no longer the truth........

and the adminstration has been the most effective in destroying the checks provide by the press.........

the fourth f'en estate.

in the next elections people will vote for checks and balances....

because no effective press with a one party control of all three branches is bullsh!t.
