I like Superman Returns a lot, in fact I saw it twice, but I can't understand why people are so excited about a stupid pirates movie. Tell me what's so cool about pirates that Superman can't beat?

OMFG!!! What the F? why pirates they can't fly, they can't shoot fire out of their eyes, they can't be shot a million times without flinching!

I don't care whether you like Pirates or not I just don't think you all are giving Superman a fair chance. It is a better movie and there's no way you can say it isn't but how can pirates beat Superman?

Look this isn't about Batman vs. Superman, if you want i'll make a question about that too. This is about people judging a movie badly just because it came out at almost the same time as another movie that almost everyone likes. Has any of you even seen Superman? I'll bet more than 75% of you haven't.

Another thing is I don't judge movies on how good each actor plays his part compared to a previous actor, I judge it on how good the story is, how much cool stuff is put into the movies and just the amount of fun I have watching the movie.
I don't care about the actors, however it would be nice to see very familiar faces and/or voices, but that's not the point.

I was more excited about Pirates than Superman. I admit it. That said, I enjoyed Superman much more. Why? It's all about the story. Pirates could have been great, but they padded out a one movie story to make two movies out of it. By contrast, Superman told a great love story, and took its time developing the characters. Instead of padding the story, they just made a long movie, that was worth every second. So Pirated ended up a (admittedly fun) mess, while Superman soared.

I never liked Superman very much. It doesn't seem like much of a challenge when you can fly, shoot lazers from your eyes, see through walls and are pretty much indestructible. And the only thing that can stop you is the more rare element on the planet. I know Lex always seems to find a buttload of the stuff, but beyond that, there's NOTHING Superman can't do. I always liked the Superheroes that had no actual super ability--Batman, etc.--but had trained themselves to be near super-human anyways. It's good motivation for us that we too can achieve that someday.
PIrates 2 was a fantastic movie. I do say that with a pain because I try my hardest to not like Johnny Depp since he's such a jerk. But I have to admit that he was fantastic in this movie. This one was more cerebrol than the first. More to think about. And I liked how at the end it wasn't one group of totally good guys verus the group of totally bad guys. There was a lot gray area being spread around there. A lot of people were upset at the ending since it just leads up to the third. And yes, I know it's just a money making scheme, but I love it anyways. The anticipation for the next one makes it so much sweeter!

I do like Pirates of the Carribean, but I was more excited about Superman. I think a lot of the attraction for us girls about Pirates is about Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom. I'm in the minority because I don't really think they are very hot or cute.
Besides the attraction factor, I think Pirates is just a more fun summer movie, but Superman is a better film and more interesting. I liked Superman more.

I was so looking forward to Superman, but it just ended up being a bit of a disappointment. Brandon Routh just seemed like a robot in the Superman role, he didn't seem to show hardly any emotion...or facial expression at all. Pirates rocked my face off!!! I saw it last night and can't wait for the third one (POTC: World's End) to come out. Captain Jack is definitely back!

Pirates Roxs Superman! Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom Rock in that movie! Superman is kinda lame the man of steel wow thats kinda stupid! Pirates is way intersting they actiolly face people! Superman u already know who's gonna win DUH superman! So stupid way more acti0on and adventure in Pirates!

the reason people liked it so much is because its a new story its not realy a sequal but it is its a new adventure but its realy good ive seen superman and pirates there both good and my favorite movies
