No, and they probobly never will be. I'm a Red Sox fan and I hate the Yankees, but the Mets will never be the New York team. The Yankees are just too popular, always have been, always will be. They can afford to put the most popular player on the team. They- In history- have one alot, and thats what the fans really like. Not to mention that the Mets are National League. And thats not doing much for them.

I am a New York Yankee Fan, and the Yankees are New York's Team, JUST LIKE THE METS ARE NEW YORK'S TEAM...when wasn't the Mets a New York team... you have me very confused!!

No. The Mets are definatly better than the Yankees. But the Yankees have so much history behind them. Thus being, the Yankees have won so many World Series and have had so many Hall Of Fame players: Babe Ruth, Mickey Mantle, Yogi Berra, Lou Gherig, Reggie Jackson, ect. They also have have meany Future Hall Of Famers: Derek Jeter, A-Rod, Gary Shefield, Randy Johnson, Mariano Rivera, and Bernie Williams.

The Mets? Hardly. They've had 1/2 a successful season. And don't forget the recent World Series meeting when the Yanks swept their cross-town rival. The Mets need to win a few titles in order make that claim.

THERE IS NO WAY THE METS ARE BETTER THAN THE YANKEES. THEY ALMOST HAVE THE SAME RECORDS AND THE METS PLAY IN THE WORST DIVISION IN BASEBALL. THEY ARE THE ONLY TEAM OVER .500 IN THAT DIVISION. THE NL SUCKS COMPARED TO THE AL, WHICH WAS CLEARLY VISIBLE DURING INTERLEAGUE PLAY. IF THE YANKEES WERE HEALTHY THEY WOULD'VE SWEPT THE METS BOTH TIMES THEY PLAYED THEM.
