It's safe. There are 95-99 % chances she's not going to get pregnant. However, it is NOT safe when it comes to sexually transmitted diseases. The male should still wear a condom.

Whatever you do, don't listen to Nancydarln's opinions. Thankfully, we live in an enlightened, educated age - its not 1850 anymore.

Having a period has nothing to do with 'washing dirt out' and you won't get any imaginary 'dirt' into your body. And ignore the old testament rubbish - the same bit of the bible tells you not to eat shellfish or wear clothing of mixed fibre - so ignore it.

Obviously, no sex is 100% safe. Blood, wherever it comes from, can contain disease if that person has a disease - and many of them are blood-communable - HIV, Hepatitis etc (although these examples are also communable through normal sex too).

Additionally, although its highly unlikely to get someone pregnant during their period, never say never.

I think the main point, as others have said, is to wear protection and have fun!

it is not save to have sex during a girl's period, because some have their ovulation during that time too, and can get pregnant as a result.

secondly, l wouldn't advice u to have sex during that period because it is a dirty act to do. As a result of that blood flow alot of dirt a being washed out to refresh the girls body and u going to have sex with her receives the dirt into ur body and then pass it later to her.

And as a christian, the old testament condemn such act. She should be left alone during her menstral period.

Unprotected sex is never really "safe". There is always that weird % floating around that you don't really want to mess with. (See Mr. Murphy on that one.) On the positive side...good for you! Alot of people get turned off of that for obvious reasons, but what they don't realize is that sex during a woman's period is a good way to relieve cramps.

IF you have any respect the person, you will allow her to have that period of time to herself.I cannot understand why you would want to have sex during her most private time of the month.

No sex is safe at anytime. Nevertheless, everyone does it but for God's sake... take precautions. Wear a Mackintosh!

messy but as long as you both are disease free it's safe. I don't know if she could get pregnant at this time. Women don't normally but there are exceptions to the rule
