Most professional footballers retire in their early to mid 30's.
You can keep playing for years after that, but it's very difficult to keep up the necessary conditioning to run for 90 minutes as you get older.

I play competitive games with a guy who is 67 years old. He doesn't move around too much, but knows how to use space and is an excellent passer of the ball.
