In the early 90s I remember telling my gansta rap lovin' friend that the genre would die out in 10 years and that it would be remembered much the way disco is remembered today. Had to eat my words. But do you think this amusical garbage can last much longer? It's not even social commentary anymore.

Well rap and hiphop are two different types of music but as far as both...They are here to stay!! Too many supporters behind it for it to disapear...Sorry to all you haters!!

Let's hope it dies soon and goes the way of disco. It's beyond me how anyone can listen to that garbage. Surely it can't last much longer.

Surely it's day will soon be past.
It's really nothing but crap -
And that's what I think about rap!

I keep praying it will die, but God seems to have abandoned my pleas.....as long as there are rapsters making millions, tone-deaf thug kids will inspire to be like them, and the cycle will continue.... I suppose the same could be said about the origins of any kind of music...sigh......

yea. elton john was quoted that rap was a fad. ...how much longer will it survive? .... it's here to stay and will continue to evolve.
