i was the same when i left school i didnt no what to do i always wanted to be a lifeguard but my dad kept saying that i cant do that for the rest of my life , in the end i did hairdressing only because my sister did and she seemed to love it so i thought it would be for me because we both liked the same things , well i got a job in a salon and went to hairdressing college to days a week then i realised that i hated it and it wasnt for me i use to come home crying from work to my parents thay kept saying to me just stick it out at least you can have something to fall back on if i changed my career , well i stayed doing the hairdressing and it payed off i no own three hairdressing salons , a barber shop and a beauty salon, ive a lovely big house and drive a nice car ,and im only 27 but iveworked hard for that the only cons about hairdressing is it long hours standing on your feet all day and the money is crap when you first start thr pros about hairdressing is that ive met alot of new people and alot of celebs from my job . the best advice i can give you is try pick your own career path talk to your parents about it because im glad my parents kept pussing me or i wouldnt have what i have today without them , good luck with what you pick.

I'm a prepress manager in the printing industry. I work with graphics programs and make the printing plates. Good job, but boring sometimes.
Pros: Average money, challenging work
Cons: No where to move up to. I'm at the top with nowhere to go.

I wish I were doing something better than helping to create junk mail though.
Look into being a Physical Therapist. You would get to help recovering people get back their Independence and movement again.
Pros: It's a job that pays well and is doing good for other people.
Cons: You have grumpy old people that you have to motivate.

I am an assistant at a financial office (we do tax returns, investments etc) also, I work part time at a child care center at the college I am a full time student at, working on my early childhood development degree b/c I want to have my own daycare. I like both jobs, the financial office is very interesting and theres plenty to learn, one of the major cons is the stress. During tax season (Jan-Apr) the office is crazy b/c everyone wants their return done right then & thats no always possible. I love working at the daycare b/c that what I really want to do so thats a major pro, the biggest con to that is the money, daycare teachers get paid almost nothing its horrible.
My advice, find something you enjoy doing & do that, wheither it makes good money or not, the fact that your happy and want to do it everyday makes the pay worth it,

I work EMS, and I love it. You are right on the front lines of people needing your help. You never know what may happen though out the course of the day, No days are ever alike, and you have to keep up with a good knowledge base on how to help people. If you enjoy helping others, don't rule it out!
