This is an absurd comparison, it's an indignity to baseball
The 98 Yankees were 114-48
The 74 A's were 90-72
I would post both teams numbers but it would be a waste of time.It's self evident that the 98 Yankess were a far better team.
You want a fair comparison for a computer simulation.Try the 2001 Seattle Mariners 116-46

Now you have 2 very evenly matched teams.
Better yet after you run them 10,000 times or so and one or the other comes out on top.Play that team against the best 2 of all time.#2 the 1927 NY Yankees(110-44). #1 the 1906 Chicago Cubs(116-36).
If your BB game will allow play in WS rather than regular season mode.This will put added emphasis where it belongs.On each teams top 3 starting pitchers and starting 8.That is if you want to know which team would have prevailed in WS play.

I went to whatifsports.com and simulated a complete seven game series and N.Y. won in 7. Good site to put to rest a lot of arguments people have about what team is better.

well if they played NOW.....and the oakland A are on avg 14 years older then those yankees...i'd go with the yankees....
