You shouldn't feel it at all, like the previous person said. When I first started using tampons I was 21 years old (I know!!), and I had the same problem at first. Remember to RELAX when inserting a tampon, and to not use an absorbency that is too high for your flow. You have to push the applicator in a little farther than what the instructions say, to make sure it is up high enough. This is a difficult topic to explain; hope this helps.

You can usually tell just by how it feels inside of you. If it hurts, digs into the side of your vaginal wall or causes discomfort then you didn't do it right. Get in a position that's comfortable for you, spread your lips apart, insert the tampon applicator and then push it as though you were giving an injection. A lot of women find it easier to do this while standing with one foot up on the toilet seat. After you have it inserted give the string a gentle tug to make sure it's firmly in place. I hope this helps. Take care!

if it is inserted correctly then nothing should be 'hanging out' if you know what i mean except for the string to remove it. if part of the tampon is sticking out remove it and start over. you cannot push it too far in that you cannot retrieve it, just make sure the enough of the string is there for removing it. also there are usually directions on or in the box the tampons came in, read it. it may sound silly but just reading and seeing the pics may help.

If you are using finger insertion, then best bet is to ensure goes all the way in as far as you can go , and you should not be able to feel it. don't worry ... it takes practise n is worth it !

it shouldn't feel too uncomfortable. when you stand, or sit, or lay, you really shouldn't feel it that much. obviously the first couple times you may b/c you are not used to it, but it shouldn't hurt.

As long as it does not hurt and it is comfortable, it is good to go.
