Kissing Jessica Stein is a good one. I also like:
Better than Chocolate
The Birdcage
Priscilla Queen of the Desert
Desert Hearts
In and Out
Boys Don't Cry
well, there's quite a few others, but those are my most favorite,
of course, I still haven't seen Brokeback Mountain, and I hear that's excellent

av seen most of these films listed in other posts here. some prefer cake is also quite good, very droll, rather feelgood.

brokeback mountain had me in bits at the end: i can still hear willie nelson singing his lament through the credits. such an important film, extremely thought provoking too, demanding that "straight" society let us just be ourselves, for pity's sake.

the birdcage is a classic too, nathan lane is out of this world.

we are so lucky to have arl these gay/bi themed films. when i came out twenty years ago, they still mostly had unhappy endings. thank heavens times have changed.

we are living in a golden era: embrace arl it has to offer you. i want love to take over the world.

and maybe hollywood could now create some more positive transgendered themed films, like priscilla? i just want to have my cake and eat it, don't i!

u is wot u is.

I agree with San_Mateo_Guy on Latter Days. It's a cool story of a young Mormon man who comes to the city and falls for a gay party boy. There's family trauma and supportive friends. Its a real gay story.

For something more light hearted, I liked Trick

Priscilla Queen of the Desert
Latter Days
Torch Song Trilogy
The Trip
Shimmer

Just to name a few. Go to TLA films and they have a full listing, they produce a lot of gay films

Brokeback Mountain was my favorite. In my opinion it broke the mode for gay movies. Normally gays are illustrated as girly like and this movie spoke on many levels revealing the masculine side of homosexuality.

That's a good movie.

I would recommend

: Latter Days
Slutty Summer - it's was a really good movie
Come Undone - it's a foreign film
there's tons but the three I mentioned are really good.
