I read that Zinedine Zidane got called a dirty terrorist by the Italian player Materazzi and so do you think it was right of him to react the way he did or do you think he should have let it go? I think he should have had more self control but I understand why he reacted that way because if I was in his shoes maybe I would have reacted that way...lol...I mean I would drop kick someone for calling me that..lol

well, zidane grew up in a poor area where retaliation is a common thing, but calling someone a dirty terrorist, is pretty bad...I understand why a great man like him would do the headbutt and walk away without looking back. and especially in the finals, when he put so much effort. so yeah, i dont think that it was very acceptable,(i agree with you , i would have done same) but Zidane is still one of the greatest soccer player ever.

Look...I'm muslim and i don't need no italian to call me any terrorist in that manner. If some other person, italian, black, white, chinese, anyone that i don't know and calls me a terrorist like the way Materrazzi said to Zidane, then I would definetely knock the cowards a$$ down and out. To come down to rascist talk in one of the great games is just plainly sick. Materrazzi deserved what he got.

I don't agree that the options you listed are the only two. Why does he have to "let it go" or react the way he did at that moment in time? If that happened or any type of provocation happened, he could have addressed it at a later time. At some point, people have to stop fighting to address their angst at the world. Clearly, thousands and thousands of years of fighting has proven nothing. However, if he still felt the urge to do something about it, he could have waited until handling it the way he did.

What he actually said was "Your bum looks big in those shorts."
Zidane-being the sensitive chap he is-decides enough is enough, and tries to show Materazzi the scar on his head that caused his obese tendencies.
Just a misunderstanding really.
