Yes. Gandhi, and to a lesser extent, Nehru was one of the few people to literally change human history. That's like asking whether Nelson Mandela should be in a South African syllabus, or Che Guevara in a Cuban syllabus.

No, as a family they sould not get any special improtance at all in the shcool text. But of course for the shake of the works they had done for the country and the for the sake of history they may find palce in the textbools, but again not for any foolish respect treating thema as royal family.
