Lots of fish eat there eggs. Sometimes breeders will "breed" them in a seperate tank to save as many as possible. They do this by laying netting on the bottom of a tank. Then they squueze the eggs out of the female often the male will release without squeezing. They remove the fish and then stir up the mixture. The fertilized eggs get kinda goey and stick to the netting. Then they place the net in a nursery tank.

Funny thing is- right after- most the fish spawn naturally in the main tank.

That is about as close as we come in the fishie world.

Artificial insemination is taking the sperm from a male and injecting it into a female's uterus.

As far as I know, this has not been used on fish. Fish mate pretty easily on their own when the tank conditions are just right, anyway.

A lot of fish are egg layers so inserting the sperm into the fish would be pointless and they ones that actually have sex I don't think they need any help. There are people who gently squeeze the female and make them lay the eggs then do the same for the male to make him release his sperm, it may not be artificial insemination but its not natural either.
