Free is NEVER really free. Someone is paying for it. There is no free lunch in life.
Countries that provide a lot of "free" services to citizens are often socialist countries and not capitalistic. It is very expensive to make services such as health care free. Some of the countries that do it have tax rates that are nearly twice as much as we pay in the U.S. Even though it sounds a little cold-hearted, it is often less effective for everyone.
The countries that try to provide all the essential things in life are called communist and they NEVER succeed at this. You will not be able to find even one example of a communist country that has been successful. That is why there are not many left in the world.
Remember, anytime someone is saying something is going to be free.....watch your wallet. Someone is paying for it. It might be you and just don't realize it.

How is it "free" when I will be taxed for it? Hell, I'm already being taxed for others' "free" health care, and their welfare, and their retirement (all gross violations of the 4th Amendment right to not have my property ($$) taken without just compensation).
And why should such a large portion of the private sector fall under government dominion? That, too, is a gross violation of government limits as set forth in the Constitution.
No, it is a bad idea. Actually, all government involvement into health care is a bad idea. If you believe Bush is a corrupt idiot, why would you give him power over your health benefits? Does that even make sense? Think about it.

Well nothings free ....... but a national health plan just makes good business sense especially if legislation for it is tied together with stiff controls on runaway malpractice costs and nuisances law suits, huge ugly legal settlements ...
You would just have to educate the taxpayer on how preventative health care would in long run save them ..... the US tax payer .... way more money than what subsidizing a percentage of the insurance costs for the poor

well we can take a leson from other countries, quit b!tching about gas prices, and raise the price to $5 a gallon and use the tax to pay for healthcare for all so in that way everyone is paying the same amount, it will help the enviroment because we will be more incline to use alternative forms of transportation, which will cause less pollution, which may lead to less respiratory problems such as asthma and lung cancer etc...honestly we can demand all we want for "free" healthcare but it just wont happen.

There is no such thing as free health care, even if your gov did want to do that, the USA citizens would still have to pay a little bit but not so much I guess it would be better

Let's not have free health care. The government shouldn't be responsible for taking care of everything for it's citizens. Next is free housing, free food, free clothing for everybody, not just the "needy." If you want all that stuff, go to your friendly neighborhood communist country.

Not a darned thing can be done while the Republicons are in power. And when the Democrats are in power again, if ever, the Republicons will block any such attempt.
