Man, there's stuff always falling from the sky and killing people in Boston! (remember that poor doctor who got squished by the falling crane a few months ago?)

It all depends on where you live and how often you travel under highway tunnels.
If you were living in San Fran or Seattle, the chances are pretty good, due to possible earthquakes.
I passed through downtown Seattle recently, driving through tunnel under tunnel, criss crossing every which way. Not a good feeling and I am always relieved to be out of there.
Slabs do fall, for whatever reasons.

I have to commute through the Big Dig everyday and used to drive through that tunnel on my way home from work each day. Now I always make the sign of the cross and go as fast as I possibly can and hope for the best.

Ask your neighborhood groundhog, they are burrowing animals and are probably more likely to get struck by a piece of falling tunnel than a human is....

There are tunnels in NYC that are almost 100 years old and no one got crushed by falling concrete. What's up with that "Big Dig" piece of cr*p?

Pretty low,but I'm never going through one in Boston again if I can avoid it.They have found hundreds of faulty ties that hold the ceilings up in their tunnels. It's all very sad that this recent disaster has ruined so many lives.
