For sure. Driving while drinking a latte and talking on a cell phone is no longer a challenge. I want to push lots of buttons to fast forward, rewind and attempt to eject after the tape has snapped into and wound itself inextricably into the player. I want to drag a suitcase of tapes around instead of those wimpy little cd holders or worse yet that tiny little iPod. I want my entire music collection to ride around with me in the trunk of my car until it melts. I need to splice something!!!!

Hell no, they cut the songs in half; or they fade the songs out and edit them. The only group ever to have the full songs on 8-tracks were Led Zeppelin - then you got silence on 6 tracks (left & right on three tracks played at the same time). ELO may of faded the song out, and then started it over on the next channel.

Only if your are putting it in a classic muscle car from the 70's and trying to restore it and keep it original. Otherwise heck no. Even Lp's are better to listen to than 8 tracks. At least you can manually jump to any song on the record.

God no. With our technoilogy today we don't have to listen to the whole CD. With an 8-track we'd have to listen to every song even if we only want to hear one of them. Tapes are bad too for the same reason. Not all of the sogns are going to be good and if you only like one you're pretty much screwed.
