I need advice, My childrens father owes my children 8000.00 in supprt. The other day he threatend me because Im in violation of court orderd visitation, well i researched and there is no order for visitation...I choose not to let him see his kids because he cant stay out of jail he beats his girlfriend up, and she is a pill popper. I want to know in the state of Florida how can I go after him for this money and raise the amount of support he is ordered to pay 33.00 a week for 2 children which is unreasonable considering I pay 142.50 a week for ther child care so I can work. Also What should I do about his nosey girfriend who threatens me everytime I mention the word childsupport and bringing him back to court. They are both basically bullies.

I work for child support in a different state but is pretty similar on how every state handles child support matters. What I suggest you do is def document the threats he and his girlfriends do on you. If it gets to a point where there's a physical threat call the police and make a report. If necessary put a restraining order on both to keep them away and still be able to receive child support. Like someone mentioned, child support and visitation are totally different from each other. Just because you don't let him see his children doesn't mean he's excuse from not paying support. If he has a problem with you not letting him see his child he would have to contact family court. If you're seeking an increase on your support you need to file a motion for an increase in your local family court or contact your caseworker on how to get an increase. Now someone suggested kids support. In my honest opinion, with kids support you're giving your money away. All you're doing is creating another middleman but this one will charge you, child support wont charge you. Any money that child support collects will be forward to kids support, they'll take their fee and send you the rest. If you want to give the little money you're getting or not getting, that's on you. Good luck sweetie.

I do not know the specifics ot Florida law but it looks like this website has links to every question you asked. I will give you a heads up though. Start documenting everything about your ex that you can so you can have him deemed unfit in the courts. Courts view child support and visitation as two separate issues. You cannot keep the kids from their father just because he doesn't pay support. You can, however, get a decree from the court stating he either has court appointed supervised visitation or no visitation at all. Good luck.

You should probly call the courts to enforce it or you can also contact 1-800 supportkids they will also help u but you will need to give them your court information. As far as the crazy girlfriend goes call the police and let them know what she is doing and get a restraining order on her that is the right way if you want to do it the wrong way beat her a** i would do both.I wouldn't let him see the kids either because he's a bad role model and your children don't need to be around that u can probly also file for full custodty just explain to the courts why the children are better off with u then him

You need to get a lawyer so the courts can back u up, keep a dairy of threats etc then present it to ur lawyer, he or she should take it from there. Aslong as u have the courts behind u and ur kids should be safe and should start getting results.
