My good friend has a potfolio and I have a resume. We got ours done by a pro photographer and he showed us severval options for layouts. Mine is an acting resume but my friend got this really nice modeling porfolio. She is wearing several outfits, a sweater and jeans in one, a dressy top and skirt in another, a bikini pose, and a nice jean kacket close up. Simple make up that compliments the face is good and do a different hair style One that looks good on you and with the outfit. try asking several photographers about model layouts. They may have a sample. I would go with a portfolio that shows different poses and sides to you. Good Luck!

The very little I know about modeling:
I went to Rutgers, which is 30 minutes outside NYC, plus it has a reputable arts school. Ergo, I have met some models.
From my life experience:
(a) models are beautiful,
(b) not necessarily skinny, but most that I met were,
(c) if you check the papers, like NYT, NY Post, Village Voice, Variety, etc (local to your area), there are modeling calls, or casting calls. Try out, if anything, just to get ...
(d) experience. Experience is worth a lot.
(e) You can get head shots or body shots done at a portrait studio, like Sears (I think). They're expensive, though.
That's everything I know about modeling. Good luck.

You go to a professional photographer to get your pic taken, then you pay the photographer and he will get you a disk and as many comp cards as you feel like paying for. I don't know where you are located, but I am in Cincinnati, and I get most of my jobs through www.heymantalent.com, just find a talent agent near you submit your pics and they will call you for auditions.

models are stupid anorexic b*tches who like to puff out their lips and have people think it makes them look cute.
Seriously, you should not be a model. It requires so much brain power (sarcasm). I mean, really, what a challenge. you put on clothes and put your hands on the little poky cliffs that are your hips and people take pictures. Besides, if you're real model, other people do your makeup and hair and stuff. You basically are a living maniquin. You kow what maniquins do-they get set up to display clothes! that's it. their opinions don't count. They don't even have to like the clothes they wear, they just have to look skinny in them.
honestly, if you're just fifteen there are so many better things yu could do with your life.

yeh, bathing suit shots "typically" do make models look slutty. But what do i know about modelling? That they are usually pictures of women so thin that they look like modelling skeletons....

You have to be tall and thin to be a model. Also, you have to have what would be called an "aesthetically pleasing" face.
