Another episode about an opera singer who may/may not have come back from the grave to haunt his killer; yet another episode about a maze ... with something ( a skull ? ) buried at the centre. I have dozens of fragmented memories about these shows. Help needed to stop onsetting insanity !!

Not Hammer House of Horror - I have all those safely locked away in my head. Not Sapphire & Steel, and not any of the Hammer/Amicus/Tyburn portmanteau horror movies of the early/mid 70s.

I'm thinking it may be 'Thriller' as suggested ( or something very like it ), but I really need confirmation as it's been driving me mad for years !!

Oh, and its' not Talesof the Unexpected - I've read the books, and seen them on TV fairly recently.

Each episode was a self contained story, with different characters, and no common theme ( other than all were tales of horror/supernatural ) - a least that's the way I remember it.

There was a 70's uk tv horror series called 'Thriller', the stories you mention sound the kind of thing that was in the series.

Apparently an alternative title for this was 'File it under fear'!

Hammer House of Horror?
or
Sapphire and Steel?
were there the same characters in it every week?
