My baby had a fever of 100.3-103.2 for 3 days and now the fever is gone, but he is starting to get a red rash all over him. Doesn't seem to bother him to bad, but what is it and how can I get it to go away?

I have talked to the doctor, she told me he is teething and nothing to worry about, but why the rash?

Thank you to everyone that responded, i just got back from the doctor and it is roseola that my son has. The dr told me it's very common for 9 to 12 months old to get and like ratrafhcd said, you get it once and that's it. they said there is nothing to worry about and it will start to clear up in a few hours to a couple days. thanks to everyone, even those who were rude and treated me like im stupid.

It could be Roseola or a viral rash called Erythema Multiform. Both look worse than they are and will go away on their own. Roseola is contagious during the fever stage (most of us had it as infants) but the only thing contagious about E.M. is the virus that caused it in the first place. One of my sons would have E.M. outbreaks after any kind of virus. My other three children never had that reaction to viruses at all. It's a reaction some kids have and some don't. The E.M. rash can last 7-10 days from start to finish.

You definitely need to get your child to a doctor. A fever in a child that young that lasts for 3 days is a serious concern.

If he has had a fever like that it can cause a internal viral infection you may want to get him some benedryl and try that to see if it will go away and if it don't go away take him to the doctor. Try the benedryl first though

What did the doctor say when you called him 3 days ago?

If for some reason you havent called yet I suggest you do so immediately. Its probably nothing to panic about but your son needs to see a doctor

take your baby to another doctor!! sure babies run fevers when they are teething but they don't usually break out in a red rash all over their bodies... something else is going on here...

Take him to the Dr. or find another Dr. who won;t blow off your concerns . My dr never does that..Always says can you be here at whenever... A mom knows her baby and a rash no matter how small whould be looked at to ease your worries..if you were not concrerned you wouldn't be asking us...

Sounds a little like Roseola. My daughter had it and that was how it happened. It's just a virus.

Once you've had it you can't get it again.

Have you considered TAKING THE BABY TO A DOCTOR instead of asking a bunch of strangers for medical advice?!?!?!
