Because when mixed with Oxygen it turns red. Our blood first is blue when its mixed with Carbon Dioxide.

There's this protein called haemoglobin in our blood - it's responsible for the red colour of our blood.

I always thought our blood was blue but turns red when it interacts with oxygen.
