I got some pieces of mirrors from a glass store and would like to etch on them and be able to hang them without frames. Is there a way to drill holes in them to run ribbon through to hang them?

Yes, but it takes a bit of skill to do it without cracking the glass. .

Hanging a mirror is best done with an edge holder. These are small holders which hold the edge of the mirror and then screw to the wall - used mostly in bathrooms and vanity areas.

For decoration you can also use an adhesive on the back of the mirror to afix it. Be sure to use a good tape or hold the mirror in place until the adhesive bonds properly. I've used Liquid nails and even Hot glue for smaller mirror pieces.

Have you talked with the glass store about having them drill the holes. They may be more skilled and have the right tools to do it.

Yes you can (as Bob the builder would say) but it takes a special glass drill bit and you want to hold the mirror securely.... It is tricky to do but can be done...

Yes it is easy to drill holes in them with the proper drill bit. And yes its a real easy way to get 7 years of bad luck if you arent skilled enough to do it. (if you believe in that sort of thing)

Also, if you have a spare peice to test with, try using a dremmel with some of the griding bits ti see if they will do it. Take it slow so as not to break the mirror via heat.
